A different kind of cardiology group.
Toledo Cardiology Consultants is an independent, physician-owned cardiology practice serving Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. Our doctors aren't employed by a hospital — which means clinical decisions stay between you and your physician.
Our story
Founded in 1998, the practice grew out of a simple idea: that the people who actually take care of patients should be the ones running the practice. Today our team includes eleven board-certified cardiologists and five nurse practitioners working out of nine offices across the region — from our flagship Toledo office on Cherry Street to satellite offices in Sylvania, Oregon, Perrysburg, Maumee, Defiance, Wauseon, Tiffin, and Napoleon.
What independence means for you
Most cardiology in our region is delivered by hospital-employed physicians. As an independent group, we hold privileges across both major systems — Mercy Health and ProMedica — so we can perform your procedure wherever it's safest, soonest, and most convenient for you. We don't refer out for the most complex work; our team performs everything from preventive lipid management to TAVR, MitraClip, and complex electrophysiology in-house.

- Mercy Health — St. Vincent Medical Center, St. Anne Hospital, St. Charles Hospital, Tiffin Hospital
- ProMedica — Toledo Hospital, Flower Hospital, Bay Park Hospital
What this means at your visit
A new patient typically gets an appointment within two weeks. You'll see a board-certified cardiologist — not a rotating roster of fellows or residents. On-site testing means most of the work-up happens during the same visit, and your physician will personally review the results with you before you leave.
When advanced procedures are needed, you stay with the same team. The cardiologist who diagnoses you is the one who follows you long-term, and is part of the multidisciplinary group that performs your procedure. That continuity is hard to come by in a hospital-employed model — and it's the part of independent practice patients tell us they value most.
